Our Vision

This vision is applicable to our staff as well as our pupils and is referred to regularly in reflective discussions and decision making.

Striving each day to be the best version of ourselves

For our Pupils: we encourage every pupil to embrace a growth mindset. We want pupils to discover their unique talents and passions, to challenge themselves academically and personally, and to celebrate their progress, no matter how small. This means trying new things, learning from mistakes, and supporting classmates.  We support pupils to be kind, respectful, and resilient, developing the skills and confidence to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and become the best version of you!

For our Staff: this translates into a commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and reflection, where we share best practices and learn from each other. This means providing engaging and inclusive lessons, nurturing positive relationships with pupils and families, and creating a safe and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.  We strive to be the best educators we can be, empowering our pupils to reach their full potential.

Our Values
At the heart of Earlston Primary are our four core values: Inspiration, Nurture, Creativity, and Community. These values are not just words on a wall; they are the guiding principles that shape every aspect of our school. We believe in inspiring a love of learning, nurturing each child's individual growth, fostering creative expression, and building a strong, supportive community. These values underpin our curriculum, our interactions, and our aspirations, ensuring that Earlston Primary is a place where everyone can thrive.

For each of our four values we gathered the views of pupils, parents, staff and partner agencies to explore what each value should look like in our school.  Each session, we evaluate how successfully each value is embedded, celebrating what is going well and identifying aspects for further improvement.

Our Aims

Pupils, parents and staff have worked in partnership to identify three key aims for the school.  These aims guide our daily practice and long-term vision and are interwoven into our curriculum and school culture, ensuring that we are not only educating our pupils, but also preparing them to be thoughtful, engaged, and successful members of our community and the wider world.

To be READY for life, learning and opportunities

To be RESPONSIBLE in our care for ourselves, others and our planet

To be RESPECTFUL in our actions and words.
