On Tuesday 28th April Primary 4 went on a school trip to Edinburgh Castle.  This trip was linked to our previous topic which was Robert the Bruce.

We all enjoyed a tour around the castle, with a guide sharing some interesting information with us! We had lots of fun in the education room where we got to try on helmets and gloves that a solider would have wore during the Wars of Independence.

We had lunch at the National Museum and had a good look around - we saw lots of things in the Scottish history section that we had looked at during our topic.

Find out what some of us enjoyed on the day below....

I enjoyed seeing the one o'clock gun - Robbie

I enjoyed dressing Cameron up as a soldier, he looked funny! - Esme

I liked seeing the one o'clock gun, the different cannons and being in the education room - Josh

I enjoyed watching Cameron get dressed up in all the armour - Jessica

I enjoyed getting to hold a sword!! - Kirsty

I like the animals at the museum, especially the big spider! - Tamara

I liked the space section at the museum - Laia

I liked getting to try on the helmet, I couldn't see out of it! - Jodi

Our new topic is Germs and Diseases. Today we did an experiment with yeast. We had one cylinder with yeast and sugar and one with just yeast. We then put the cylinders into a tub of hot water. The cylinder without sugar reached 77ml. The one with sugar went up to 160ml and then overflowed. william zoe
