Current Parent Action Groups - 2024/25Additional Support Needs (ASN)
A pupil may have additional support needs for a variety of reasons. These may be short term, or enduring needs. Examples may include: Care experience, young carer, physical health needs, English as a second language, dyslexia, mental illness, learning disability, autism, ADHD. This group is specifically reflecting on the lived experience of families of pupils who have a range of additional support needs. The aims are to improve communication and understanding for families, processes and practice for staff and ultimately the school experience and educational and social outcomes for children. Group Links: School provision for the needs of ASN pupils requires ongoing development and review. As such, this group reports in to the Parent Council as it is the central Parent-School Forum. This will remain the case even if the Parent Action Group becomes inactive in future. ASN Families Peer Support: Whatsapp Group - discussion and sharing of resources.
