Parent Action Groups

We work proactively and responsively with parents and guardians.  Parent Action Groups are coordinated groups of parents, school representatives and community partners as relevant, working together to improve pupil, family and school experiences in Earlston.

Whatever your particular interests and skills, there is an opportunity for you to contribute to the development of the school.

Earlston Primary School is continually striving to improve in all areas, however there will be specific areas of focus each year.  Some groups may continue year by year, whereby some may be shorter term.

If you think there is an area which could do with specific attention, and it is not already noted, please get in touch with your queries or suggestions.

Additional Support Needs (ASN)

A pupil may have additional support needs for a variety of reasons.  These may be short term, or enduring needs.

Examples may include:
Care experience, young carer, physical health needs, English as a second language, dyslexia, mental illness, learning disability, autism, ADHD.

This group is specifically reflecting on the lived experience of families of pupils who have a range of additional support needs.  The aims are to improve communication and understanding for families, processes and practice for staff and ultimately the school experience and educational and social outcomes for children.

School provision for the needs of ASN pupils requires ongoing development and review.
As such, this group reports in to the Parent Council as it is the central Parent-School Forum.  This will remain the case even if the Parent Action Group becomes inactive in future.

ASN Families Peer Support:
Whatsapp Group - discussion and sharing of resources.
